    1. Current Employee, more than 5 years

      Pros

Flexible schedule, can transfer to other garden restaurants, opportunity to grow

      Cons

As with every serving job never receive actual pay checks and usually owe on taxes

    2. Erstwhile Employee, more ane twelvemonth

      Pros

-Carte is easy to memorize, everything is a variation of pasta and at that place isn't a huge listing of specialty cocktails -Virtually locations are fairly busy -Will never have to have your piece of work home -Minimal out piece of work after you've been cut

      Cons

-Many customers came for the unlimited soup and salad option or the build your own pasta option - both are inexpensive and particularly time consuming for the server (especially during the never catastrophe pasta bowl promos) - this pb to lower customer bills (and thus lower tips) for orders that were more than piece of work -Servers were required to make their ain breadsticks and salads, even during rushes when there was niggling time. Due to the unlimited deal, there were never enough breadsticks and the salad line was always scarcely stocked -a few people are scheduled as "extras" on weekend shifts, meaning they would work the shift if anyone else had to call off. You are required to come in for your shift even if you've been scheduled as an extra, and you won't know if you lot've been scheduled equally an "extra" until you come up in for your shift. This ways that if you've been scheduled as an "extra" and no ane has chosen off for the same shift, you will be sent home, after already getting dressed and driving all the way to work. However, once you come to piece of work, you have to stay there for nigh a half 60 minutes into the shift, all while getting paid $two.15 an hour, in guild to make sure that no one scheduled in inside the next half hour doesn't come in or call off.

      Pros

Management is awesome. Information technology is very rare to notice such back up and care across the board in regards to direction. They are always willing to help and work aslope you regardless of paygrade and level of position.

      Cons

Since COVID, it has been a struggle for many servers financially. Don't get me incorrect if yous build rapport and be attentive with your guests then you volition make your money. It's just not how it used to exist, so existence attentive and effective at your chore is key.

    5. Current Employee, more than than 5 years

      Pros

Schedules are typically very flexible, although certain times of the year are more than stiff. However pretty piece of cake to substantially build your own schedule though. If you truly need time off, yous can speak to a managing director and they will typically try to aid you out to the best of their power. Discounted meals, although information technology's pretty easy to snag a couple breadsticks if you're in a compression. Decent money for corporeality of time worked. You tin typically make near $100 a shift if y'all stay the whole shift (roughly 5 hours) and become consistent tables. Depends on the time of year, though. Late winter months are pretty slow, then accept that into consideration.

      Cons

At times, pretty darn stressful. Especially with all of the soup, salad, and breadstick refills. In that location is rarely assistance available across people running your entrees, and fifty-fifty that can be a pain sometimes. The coin is a bit unpredictable. You might come up in for a wednesday lunch and make either $xl or $140. The only consistent money making shifts are friday and sabbatum nights. Physically demanding. Expect to put in about 15,000 steps per shift. Some coworkers are legit vultures who will problems you lot for shifts. It tin become to exist quite abrasive, although useful if you truly need certain days off.

    6. Current Employee, more than than 8 years

      Pros

It's a highly stable visitor. They constantly throw money at you in the form of bonuses IF you see visitor projections...which are doable. You're expected to continue vacations and placed on vacation if y'all don't go after a quarter has passed. Yous're expected to get all your work done in 40hours so become habitation...no 55+hr piece of work weeks.

      Cons

The same you lot will observe everywhere, the grass isn't greener. You lot're still going to have employees telephone call off "sick" with no warning, some employees who slack off, a few uncontrollable guests.

      Pros

When I first got the job I think I got lucky when information technology comes to the people I work with. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Management listened to any issues or problems y'all had and helped gear up them. Co-workers are not agape to get out and help yous during your shift when you might be struggling during a rush.

      Cons

Some people come and go very quickly. Note information technology is on their accord, but y'all as well have the ones that stick around for a while. Information technology can exist challenging when so many new people come and go or when systems modify.

      Pros

      - Great coin (especially on weekends) -Super flexible schedule (We accept an app and a Facebook group where nosotros tin merchandise off shifts, give upwards shifts, and pick upwards shifts. You basically cull your hours.) -Modest sidewalk (rolling silverware and cleaning your section) - Good hours (we're only open up 11am to 10pm on weekdays and 11am to 11pm on weekends, so you won't have to be there super early or late) - Absurd coworkers (anybody gets along)

      Cons
